Dear SPE Student members!
On Thursday 2nd October, we had our first guest presentation for the current semester. There were an impressive turn out of approximately 40 students.
The presentation was inaugurated by the Secretary of the Oslo Student Chapter, Chuks, who also coordinated the event. This was shortly followed by a brief introduction to the SPE UiO Student Chapter by President, Wibi.
The guest presenter was Torffin Eidem, who is a former geology student at UiO and who currently works for Det norske. The title of the presentation was "Wellsite Geologists and Challenges they Face."
The presentation itself lasted for about 35 minutes and was shortly followed by refreshments. Students in the audience also had the opportunity to register as SPE student members which resulted in a total of 18 new members!!
We are very pleased with the event and the number of attendees. The meeting finally came to a close at around 18:00. T-shirts with the SPE logo on it were given out to all SPE student members, as well as those who were newly registered.
Finally we would like to thank everyone who attended the presentation and look forward to seeing everyone again at our next event.
