Dear SPE Friends,

Thank you all for a great turn out at our April meeting it was very rewarding to see close to 50 people attending the two lectures and the following dinner!

Our local sponsors Kongsberg Oil & Gas Technologies (KOGT) and Weatherford Petroleum Consultants (WFTPC) were the presenters of the evening and Marius Lunde (Program Chair) was our excellent host. 

First up was Mr. Steinar Øyulvstad from KOGT who introduced us for LedaFlow, a new exciting multiphase flow simulator that has been in development since 2001 and had its first commercial release in 2011. Mr. Øyulvstad introduced the Oslo community to the current capabilities and upcoming features of the simulator and putting emphasis on their collaboration with different research communities in Norway.

After KOGT, Mr. Erik Nakken and Mr. André Sæthren introduced us to the secrets of WFTPC and outlined their business areas before giving us a very interesting technical presentation on ICD modelling for reservoir simulation purposes. WFTPC have become a leader in a very specific area and proof to this is their recent contract to model all wells ADCO is to drill for the coming years (100+ wells).

After the presentation we all made our way to the dinner table enjoying a great meal accompanied with great company!

I hope to see many of you at our next and last meeting of the season! Reserve the date,15th of May, we will be visited by a Distinguished Lecturer and in addition we will conduct our general election.
